Lerato Kganyago, new face for Levi’s® South Africa Curvy range

The award-winning South African television and radio personality, Lerato Kganyago is the new official ambassador for Levi’s® South Africa Curvy range for Summer 2020, it has been announced.

The Project Runway host and winner of South Africa  Style Awards Most Stylish Media Personality 2019, Lerato is renown for constantly pushing to shift mindsets among African women, regarding their bodies.

Having been body-shamed herself, Lerato says she will continue to shine light on the importance of celebrating the beauty of African women, regardless of their body shapes.

“It’s imperative that the perception of weight issues among young black girls and adolescents is changed. The female body has been under scrutiny for too long, what media portrayed as beautiful was therefore beautiful, and this is just not the case as we progress into 2021 we celebrate our diversity and differences in size, shape and color.”

Talking about celebrating the Curvy range, and championing body positivity, David Davey, Brand Manager at Levi’s® South Africa says: “We see our Curvy range as catering for an important need, creating jeans in the way bodies are made and meant to be and not the other way around.”
