50! Looks from Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2016
From ruffles to appliques, pretty pastel colours to neon yellow, good old blacks, greys and whites to vibrant florals and Ankara, over 50 designers made the annual Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW) 2016 catwalk a hive of diverse fashion creativity. Even gingham made the cut! A notable appearance from the About That Curvy Lifestyle runway, featuring five designers dedicated to the fuller figure, was refreshing to see. The 2016 show also saw a broad range of unsung emerging design talents.
Here are some of the designs that stood out for us. Enjoy.

The Nigerian fashion and retail industry is still in infancy and lacking in proper structure. We believe that by creating an agenda of the most pressing issues faced by the fashion industry, and then inviting thought leaders to share their perspective, we can gradually begin to develop a semblance of structure for creating sustainable change in the industry
